    Benedicto XVI, cristianos en Irán 

    Los católicos están presentes en Irán desde los primeros siglos del cristianismo e integran la vida y la cultura de esta nación. Lo ha dicho Benedicto XVI en el discurso a Ali Akbar Naseri, Embajador de la República Islámica ante la Santa Sede. El Papa confía en que las autoridades iraníes sepan garantizar a los cristianos la libertad de profesar su fe y puedan asegurar a la comunidad católica las condiciones para su existencia, también porque los cristianos en este país son realmente ciudadanos iraníes. Benedicto XVI ha subrayado que Irán posee una importante tradición espiritual y sobre esta base es posible suponer una creciente apertura y colaboración con la comunidad internacional ...
